One of the most common questions I get as a boudoir photographer is:
“What should I wear?”
Totally fair question. Choosing outfits can feel like the most intimidating part of the experience, especially if this is your first boudoir session. The good news? You don’t need a closet full of lingerie or a perfectly curated wardrobe. You just need a few pieces that feel good—and someone to guide you.
Over the years, I’ve developed a simple framework that I recommend to almost every client. These four boudoir looks photograph beautifully, feel intentional, and help take the pressure off deciding what to bring.
Let’s break it down.
Look One: Something for You
This is your feel-good fit.
Think: the outfit that makes you feel confident the second you put it on. A bodysuit, your favorite lingerie set, a corset, or something that simply makes you feel like yourself—but elevated.
This look is all about you.
The dress code here is confidence.
We usually start here because it helps you settle in, get comfortable in front of the camera, and ease into the experience.
Look Two: Something for Them
If your boudoir session is a gift, this look is a subtle nod to the person receiving the images.
Some popular options include:
- An oversized button-down
- Their favorite t-shirt
- Something sentimental or familiar
This look often creates some of the most emotional images—soft, intimate, and deeply personal.
Look Three: Accidentally Sexy
This is one of my personal favorites.
“Accidentally sexy” is effortless and playful. It’s not overly styled or try-hard, which is exactly why it works so well.
Think:
- A cozy sweater with panties
- Jeans with a lacy bra
- A leather jacket with nothing underneath
This look feels relaxed, natural, and incredibly hot without trying to be.
Look Four: Nude or Implied Nude
This is where boudoir truly becomes art.
Implied nude images are photographed with intention, trust, and care—using soft sheets, draped fabrics, shadows, and thoughtful posing. I offer a full client closet for implied nude looks, and we always talk through this option beforehand.
After we capture implied nude images, I also give every client the opportunity to be photographed completely nude—if they want. There is never pressure. Only choice.
These images are created respectfully and artistically, honoring you exactly as you are—like the work of art you truly are.
You’re Never Doing This Alone
No matter which looks you choose, I guide you every step of the way—from outfit selection to posing to gentle direction during the shoot.
You don’t need to know how to pose.
You don’t need to know what to do with your hands.
You don’t need to show up feeling confident.
That’s my job.
Your only job is to show up as you are and trust the process. Together, we create images that feel powerful, beautiful, and completely you.
✨ You are already enough. I just help you see it. ✨
